NEW BRITAIN - To kick off the new year, Stanley Golf Course is giving golfers a chance at a 2018 season pass as the course’s annual Lunchtime Buckets of Luck event is returning.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in January and February, each person who purchases a bucket of golf balls will be entered into a raffle.

Raffle winners will be picked the last Thursday of each month. The Parks and Recreation Department will post the winners on its Facebook page.

“Your name gets entered once if you buy a small bucket, twice for a medium bucket, and three times for a large bucket purchased. There’s no limit to the number of times you can enter - the more the merrier,” said Erik Barbieri, director of the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department. “The bigger the bucket and the more you participate, the greater your chances are of winning a 2018 season golf pass.”

Monthly prizes will include one 2018 season pass winner, valued at $1,450); one 2018 free foursome with GPS carts, valued at $230; a free skybox voucher for a 2018 New Britain Bees home game, valued at $250; and a 45-minute lesson with Stanley golf pro Kyle Hedstrom, valued at $60.

Last year’s winners were Lorraine Fries from Meriden, Terry Schnurr from Unionville, Glen Giovanelli from West Haven and Vaughan Gaither from Hartford.

The driving range at Stanley Golf Course is covered, well-lit and heated. During the winter months, the driving range opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. on weekdays and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

Stanley Golf Course is located at 245 Hartford Road.
