SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Public Library has announced a free concert, “Warm Up with the Music of Nat King Cole,” on Jan. 31, featuring musicians John Brighenti and Orice Jenkins.

The program will be held at 7 p.m. in the café of the library at 255 Main St.

Brighenti is a graduate of the Hartt College of Music where he studied both classical piano and music theory. After graduating, he enrolled at the Hartford Conservatory of Music to further pursue his musical studies. These studies included courses in big band arranging and jazz piano techniques. Brighenti next traveled to New York to study jazz improvisation with the world-renowned jazz pianist and composer, Lennie Tristano.

Jenkins is a singer, composer and bandleader. He recorded his first two CDs while simultaneously studying classical music at the Hartt College of Music, teaching at various schools in his hometown of Hartford, and working as musical director for numerous acts in the Northeast.

Together, Brighenti and Jenkins bring back the music of Nat King Cole.
