New Britain parking ban goes into effect at 12 a.m.

NEW BRITAIN – City officials have issued a parking ban on all city streets as of 12 a.m. Thursday.

The ban is likely to be in effect until Thursday night. Vehicles parked on the street could get towed and the owners could receive a $100 fine, officials said.

Free parking is available at Osgood Park, Stanley Golf Course, the city lot at Wildwood and Linden Streets, the Quonset hut parking lot at 655 Slater Road, Washington Park parking lot opposite Gold Street, Martha Hart Park, the city parking garages at Bank and Chestnut Streets and Columbus Boulevard at the corner of Washington Street and the Pulaski Club at 89 Grove St.
