State police identified the man whose body washed ashore in Old Lyme Monday as a 44-year-old New Britain resident who had been missing since November.

Juan Colon was reported missing to New Britain police on Nov. 24. His body was found in the area of Hackett’s Point in Old Lyme at around 3 p.m. Monday.

He was last seen by his family Nov. 23, New Britain Capt. Jeanette Portalatin said. The family reported at the time that he had been upset about personal issues.

His car was found by Middletown police at the Harbor Park Gazebo along the Connecticut River in November.

He was identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which concluded that he had taken his own life by drowning.
