New Britain man dies after being struck by car

NEW BRITAIN - Police are looking for witnesses to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian Saturday night.

A 56-year-old New Britain man was hit by a car on Farmington Avenue between Sidoti Drive and Lurton Street at about 8:45 p.m., police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old city woman, was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation. There have been no charges filed, Capt. William Steck said.

Police are asking anyone with information or who may have seen the accident to call Sgt. Steven King of the Traffic Division at 860-826-3071.
