NEW BRITAIN -Registered voters who want to change party affiliations for the Aug. 14 primary elections have less than a week to do so.

Connecticut is a closed-primary state, meaning voters in primaries must be registered with the primary’s party. The last day to change affiliation is Monday, May 14.

Unaffiliated voters have until noon Aug. 13 to affiliate with a party for its primary.

For more information, voters can call the city’s Registrars of Voters Office at 860-826-3310.

Peter Gostin is the city’s Republican registrar and Lucian Pawlak is the Democratic registrar.
