A school bus got into a crash Friday morning

SOUTHINGTON – A school bus got into a crash heading to Derynoski Elementary School Friday morning, but no students were injured.

Deborah Albaitis, executive assistant to the Superintendent of Schools confirmed that students were unharmed in the crash. The students were picked up by another bus and brought safely to school.

Sergeant Jeff Dobratz from the Southington Police Department added that the bus was rear ended around 330 Meriden Ave. The adjacent Delahunty Drive and Carter Lane roads were temporarily shut down at 8:46 a.m. Board of Education members and School administration were on the scene. By 9:30 a.m., the roads had re-opened.
