NEW BRITAIN - A Hartford man has been arrested for an alleged sexual assault on a 5-year-old girl on New Year’s Eve in New Britain.

Lazaro Alonso Centeno-Delgado, 27, is charged with first-degree illegal sexual contact with a victim less than 16 years old and first-degree sexual assault of a victim less than 13 years old who was two years younger than the actor.

According to the warrant for his arrest, signed off on in May, police responded to a sexual assault incident that occurred months before.

The mother of the girl told police she had spoken with Centeno-Delgado about the incident after the victim told her that Centeno-Delgado “gave me kisses.”

Centeno-Delgado told the mother the victim climbed on top of him, asked him to kiss her and he kissed her stomach, the warrant said.

Police spoke with the girl in February. She told them Centeno-Delgado inappropriately touched her, the warrant said. She also said she told Centeno-Delgado she was going to leave and he told her no.

Family of Centeno-Delgado noticed him being more antisocial than normal during a New Year’s Eve party later that day in Bristol and the girl wasn’t going near him, the warrant said.

The girl told her mother what had happened during the car ride home from the party, family of Centeno-Delgado told police.

Centeno-Delgado is due in New Britain Superior Court on June 24. He remains in custody on $250,000 bond.
