NEW BRITAIN – Mayor Erin Stewart and her husband Domenic Mutone announced Wednesday Baby Mayor has made her entrance into the world

Stewart and Mutone named their firstborn child, a baby girl, Lina Elizabeth Mutone. She was born on July 26.

“We are beyond thrilled to bring this little bundle of joy into the world,” Stewart said. “Domenic and I are so excited to jump into parenthood and experience all of the joy Lina will bring to our family. I am pleased to report that both the baby and I are healthy, home and happy.”

Stewart gave birth to baby Lina at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.

“Our family wants to give special thanks to the amazing staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut,” Stewart said. “The entire experience was great thanks to our fantastic labor and delivery nurses, and Dr. David Sowa of Starling Physicians who provided incredible care.”

Stewart will be taking some time off over the course of the next few weeks to adjust to motherhood and spend time with her family.

“The city’s operations and business will move forward as planned,” Stewart said. “While I might not physically be there for the time being, I am in constant communication with the mayor’s office and all of our department heads. I look forward to continuing my service to the residents of New Britain during my maternity time.”
