NEW BRITAIN – Three new covid-19 cases were confirmed by New Britain schools late Thursday evening, but no classroom or school closures were needed.
A member of the DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School community was tested positive for the virus and was last at the school on Nov. 16. The person will be in isolation for 14 days and after investigations by the city’s public health department, it was determined that there were no close contacts related to the case. Therefore, no classroom or school closure was needed, according to the school district.
Also Thursday, a member of Gaffney Elementary School tested positive for covid-19 and will be in isolation for 14 days. The person was last at the school on Nov. 16 and no close contacts were determined for this case.
The elementary school is already in remote learning due to a previous positive case.
On Wednesday, the district was notified that a member of the Northend Elementary School tested positive for the virus and will be in isolation. The person was last at the school on Nov. 13 and there were no close contacts determined for this case, according to the district.
The district determined that no classroom or school closure is needed.
