NEW BRITAIN – In honor of Women’s History Month the New Britain Museum of American Art is hosting a month-long celebration.
In addition to the museum’s ongoing 2020/20+ Women @ NBMAA initiative, in which all exhibitions are dedicated to female artists, the museum will be presenting a series of in-person and virtual events celebrating the lives and achievements of women throughout history.
NBMAA will kicks off the celebration tonight with a Women’s History Trivia Night at Five Churches Brewing from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Participants can enjoy the game night in person at 93 Arch St, New Britain or virtually. Following the trivia game there will be a Virtual Gallery Talks, highlighting women artists.
Tuesday, from 4-4:30 p.m., will be Virtual Slow Art.
Wednesday, from 1-2 p.m., will be the Virtual Gallery Talk and Highlights of Work from Women Artists in the NBMAA Permanent Collection.
Thursday, March 18 from 5-8 p.m. will be Date Night at the Museum located at 56 Lexington St. and Women’s History Month program.
To wrap up the month-long celebration of Women’s History Month will be a Free Family Day on Sunday, March 21 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Families are invited for free to the museum to enjoy a day full of activities. Additionally, each weekend visitors can rock their favorite woman artist from the museum’s permanent collection with a hand-made button, made available upon exiting the Museum.
