NEW BRITAIN - The New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA) has a full day of activities planned for Halloween.
That Sunday, October 31 from 11 to 3 p.m. everyone of all-ages are welcomed to show off their best costumes and partake in some wicked fun.
“The NBMAA is always looking for opportunities to open its doors to the community,” said Lisa Lappe, Director of Marketing. “Not only is our Halloween Spooktacular safe and spectacularly fun, but we have also designed the day for all ages from slime for the littles to a Beer Graveyard for the adults.”
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Studio A the kids can make slime. For $5 they can join one of the four 20-minute time slots; but spaces are limited so those interested are encouraged to sign-up online or at the front desk.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. anyone can get a caricature of themselves by artist Matt Ryan in SWC.
In lieu of the NBMAA’s annual Museum After Dark party, visitors can also enjoy Adult Halloween Fun: Beer Graveyard outdoors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At noon and 1 p.m. there will be Family Inside Out Tours of the permanent collection at NBMAA. There will be a limit to groups of 10.
It wouldn’t be a Halloween celebration without a ghoulish dance performance of Thriller. Guests can enjoy a live performance by YWCA Dance at 1 p.m.
To end the spooktacular festivities at 2 p.m. there will be a Costume Parade around the Museum’s campus and a Costume Contest outside. Those who participate in the parade will receive goodie bags.
All activities and Museum admission are free for all.
The New Britain Museum of American Art is located at 56 Lexington St.
