NEW BRITAIN – A city will host a fashion show tonight to spotlight a line of clothing highlighting diversity and culture.

Licensed Professional Counselor Candyce Scott will host a fashion show Wednesday night at the Diaspora Club at 90 John St. in New Britain. Scott said she started Candyce's Fashion, a line about diversity and cultural pride, as a way to heal her community.

The event will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature a meet and greet with the democratic candidates running for office Nov. 2.

Scott, a candidate for the Board of Assessments, has invited Bobby Sanchez, candidate for mayor, Iris Sanchez and Aram Ayalon, candidates for Ward 3, and Tre Brown, candidate for Common Council Ward 5, to speak and meet the community. Todd Arasimowicz, a candidate for Ward 4 Council and media liaison, said all residents are welcome to attend the event.

“With all of the long hours and hard work the candidates have been putting in, this event is going to be an opportunity to have some fun and leave the stresses of the campaign at the door,” Arasimowicz said.
