The Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce will be partnering with the Ana Grace Project for its annual Holiday Toy Drive taking place this week.

"We have a regular holiday party every year, but obviously we didn't do it last year (due to the pandemic)," said Bill Moore, chamber president. "But it's a way for the chamber to thank our members for their support during the year and also give back to the community."

All chamber members are invited for free to the annual Holiday Party this Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Shuttle Meadow Country Club, located at 51 Randecker Ln in Berlin.

"We're asking everybody to bring a wrapped gift (toy for the kids) or a giftcard for the teens," Moore said.

The gifts will be given to the Ana Grace Project and will then be distributed to the children.

"This is the second time we've partnered with them. We did it with them in 2019 as well," Moore said.

Attendees will not only enjoy food and drinks at the party they will be entered into a drawing where they can win a giftcard.

"There will be some holiday background music playing, and a very small presentation, and speeches," Moore said.

Moore said the party is something everybody looks forward to every year and seems to enjoy.

"The event is kind of early in the month where people are still working but still close enough to keep the focus on the Christmas holiday. I think Hanukkah is still underway right now and I believe Kwanzaa begins later on in the month so it's kind of in the middle of everything," Moore said. "And we're getting a nice turnout, we're over 50 attendees right now and that's on the heels of the 250 that came to our annual meeting."

For those who are unable to attend the party but would like to contribute to the Toy Drive you can drop off your donation at the chamber office at One Liberty Square until Thursday.
