NEW BRITAIN – The City of New Britain will suspend parking meter fees in Little Poland in anticipation of Easter shopping this weekend.
There will be no parking meter fees on Broad Street. The free parking will be made available to residents and visitors starting Wednesday until Monday, when regular parking meter rates will resume at 8 a.m.
“Our Little Poland neighborhood is a well-known destination for residents and visitors alike during Easter time,” New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart said. “We hope that by making parking even more convenient it encourages more people choose the wonderful shops and markets on Broad Street for all their Easter shopping.”
In addition to the free parking, rules for handicap parking will continue to be strictly enforced. Parking authorities will ensure persons with disabilities have full access to parking. Anyone with questions contact the city’s Facilities Department at 860-826-3415.
