NEW BRITAIN – There is a special camaraderie among those who graduated from the short-lived Pulaski High School, and they will be gathering for a big reunion this fall.

Alumni from all years are invited to the Pulaski High School All-Year Reunion, set to take place Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Falcon Field, 723 Farmington Ave., New Britain.

New Britain Public Schools built the school at 757 Farmington Ave. in 1961, to accommodate the growing number of students in town. Meanwhile, New Britain High School at 110 Mill St. – where it stands to this day – was erected.

School enrollment declined through the 1970s and Pulaski High School closed in 1982. At that time it was converted into Pulaski Middle School, still in operation today.

Although they were forced to finish at NBHS, the classes of 1983 and 1984 still identify as Pulaski High School graduates. Many of them are on the committee planning the reunion.

The lucky few who had the opportunity to attend Pulaski have continued to connect and sustain their school’s legacy on social media and during class reunions. The All-Year Reunion typically takes place once per decade – the last being in 2012.

On Pulaski High School’s Facebook page, there were 143 comments in response to a recent post about the upcoming reunion. Most of them were written by alumni excited to see their former classmates at the event.

“We will celebrate the class of 1967 55th reunion there!” Fred Zaiko posted.

“I’ll be there,” Debra Baldino Noddin said, adding, “Looking forward to seeing old friends!”

“Class of 75 had a great group represented last time!” Cheryl Doyle said, adding that she and her husband Tom planned to attend.

Tickets to the upcoming reunion are $35 in advance or $45 at the door.

The ticket price includes entry, hot dogs, burgers and veggie burgers from Frankie’s, as well as entertainment. All drinks (water/soda/alcohol) are BYOB. Food trucks will also be on-site.

All profits from ticket sales will go to the Pulaski High School Scholarship Fund.
