NEW BRITAIN — Darwin Shaw might not be out of a coaching job for long.
Just three days after the announcement Darwin Shaw would no longer be an assistant and junior varsity head coach for the New Britain boys basketball program, which resulted in outrage from the community on the Herald's website and Facebook page, the school extended the offer to bring him back, according to a source.
Sources told The Herald Sunday that Nancy Sarra, the superintendent of the Consolidated School District of New Britain, has reached out to Shaw to offer him the opportunity to come back as head coach of JV basketball team.
Shaw could not be reached for comment. The terms for the rehire are not yet known.
