New Britain boy, girls track spilt meet against Hartford Public

NEW BRITAIN - The New Britain girls track team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday afternoon and it wasn’t even close.

The Hurricanes put on a number of quality performances as they beat Hartford Public 89-30.

Patrice Harrison and Jamie Kelly were both double winners. Harrison won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, while Kelly won the 800- and 1600-meter dashes.

Rosalyn Smith was another from New Britain that can out with a win, taking the triple jump. Savannah Gonzalez also came in first, taking the 400-meter dash.

The Hurricanes are now 1-1 on the season.
