NEW BRITAIN - The poor weather conditions didn’t stop the New Britain boys golf team from competing in its match against Maloney Friday.

It just didn’t help the Hurricanes much either in their 185-213 loss to Maloney.

The Spartans’ Demetre Carnot was the medalist of the match after shooting a 42.

Tim Carrier was the low scorer for New Britain. He shot a 48 and was followed by Johnny Morell, who finished a stroke off at 49.

“It was tough conditions out there,” Hurricanes head coach Bob Zadrozny said. “Tim and Johnny came through with decent scores in very soggy conditions.”

Arthur Bell and Manny Benitez rounded out New Britain’s scoring with a 57 and 58 respectively.

The Hurricanes are now 1-2 on the season and will take on Bristol Central on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m.
