New Britain girls volleyball beats Rocky Hill to start second half of season on strong note

NEW BRITAIN - The New Britain girls volleyball team continues to get better with each match.

The Hurricanes picked up their four win in their last six matches as they beat Rocky Hill 3-1 Thursday night.

“As a whole team it was solid performance,” said New Britain head coach Michelle Abraham, whose team is now 7-4 on the season. “We’re now in the second half of the season so it was good to see.”

The Hurricanes took the first, third and fourth sets 25-12, 25-7 and 25-14. They dropped the second one 14-25.

New Britain also got some quality performances from its younger players.

Anyerina Lugo finished with 29 service points and nine aces, while Audrey Belliveau recorded 10 assists.

The team’s veterans, Raven Jarrett, finished her night with nine kills, 10 digs and 10 service points. She was 14-of-14 from the service line.
