New Britain native to take to the ring in Holiday Bash 2021

A New Britain native will take to the ring to compete in professional boxing in the coming weeks.

Nathan Martinez will face Jayron Santiago in a six-round bout as part of a lengthy undercard between Kendrick Ball Jr. and Mike Guy on Tuesday, November 23 at Villa Napoletana in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts as part of the Holiday Bash 2021, presented by CES Boxing.

The event will kick off on November 27th at 7 p.m. The event will be open to the public.

Fighting with Martinez in the undercard is Shelly Vincent, a New London native, who will face Shelly Barnett in an eight-round matchup for the female featherweight bout. Vincent returns to the ring after a two-year layoff.

Joshua Orta will also face Lester Brown Jr. in the six-round male featherweight bout. In the super featherweight division, Isaiah Cruz and Darren Mima, will square off. Mima is a former MMA world-title challenger who will make his boxing debut.

Also on the undercard is Jalen Renaud, who will face Jurmain Mcdonald in the super welterweight.

In the super lightweight showdown Dashaun Johns will face Daniel Mitchell, the later of whom is returning to the ring after a six-year break. Both are making CES debuts. In the heavyweight event Tim Hatfield will face Rodrigo DaRocha in a four-round tilt and in the women’s welterweight Stevie Jane Coleman, a Columbia native, will face LeAnn O’Malley in a four-round match.
