Newington motorcyclist dies after collision with car in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN - Police are investigating a crash that killed a 26-year-old Newington man Sunday afternoon.

The man was driving a motorcycle in the area of West Main and Grove streets around 2:40 p.m. when he collided with a car driven by a 30-year-old Terryville woman, police said.

Police are still trying to determine how the crash happened and how the vehicles collided.

The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died. The woman was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Police are not releasing the identity of the dead man or the woman.

No charges have been filed, police said. The Traffic Safety Division is investigating.
