Restaurant donates 20% of day's sales to new monument in New Britain

NEWINGTON - Puerto Vallarta Restaurant in Newington held a fundraiser Tuesday to help fund the Global War on Terror monument in New Britain that is set to be dedicated on Sept. 11.

The Mexican restaurant at 2385 Berlin Turnpike donated 20 percent of all sales Tuesday, including takeout orders.

The monument will be be in Central Park in New Britain.

The dedication is open to the public at no charge and will be sponsored by the Northwestern Vets T.G.M. Memorial Post at 140 Curtis St., New Britain.
