NEWINGTON - A female juvenile was transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Tuesday evening after being cut on her face and back during what police say was a brawl.

Her injures were not life-threatening. They were suffered during a fight in the area of Bonair Avenue that was called in to police just before 7 p.m., according to Sgt. Brendan Moon.

Police are unsure exactly what sort of instrument was used to injure the girl, Moon said. Police could not find a weapon at the scene.

The victim is from Newington, as were others involved in the brawl. Adults are also believed to have been involved. They may have been from other towns, Moon said.

Police are unsure why the fight broke out and had made no arrests as of Wednesday afternoon, Moon said. Police have identified some of the people involved and will be interviewing them, he added.

Anyone who may have seen the fight is asked to contact Detective Henry Rodriguez at 860-594-6218.
