NEWINGTON – Residents who need a covid-19 test, an N95 mask or both should plan to pick them up this Saturday.

The town delayed its drive-through distribution this past weekend due to bad weather. For those who were already anticipating it, the event’s general guidelines remain the same.

Distribution is set to take place Saturday from 6 to 9 a.m. on Alumni Road. Vehicles must enter from the Willard Avenue intersection, (not Cedar Street) and all occupants must be wearing masks that cover their noses and mouths.

Also, drivers must provide proof of town residency and should have their identification ready to show volunteers, while remaining in their vehicle at all times.

Due to the limited supply, only one test kit and five N95 masks will be distributed per vehicle.

Walk-ups and early arrivals will not be served.

This distribution is intended for people who are symptomatic or have had direct contact with an infected individual and do not have access to other testing options. Those who received a kit previously or are only interested in masks are asked to remain patient, as there will be additional distributions in the near future.

Emergency Management Director Meghan Manke can be contacted with questions, at mmanke@newingtonct.gov.
