NEWINGTON – Music, fitness and food will all be taking place in Clem Lemire Recreation Complex next weekend.
Newington Parks and Recreation in conjunction with AARP will be hosting a Free Exercise Party Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the park.
The event is free and open to the public. People of all ages are encouraged to attend.
“Everyone is invited and we hope to fill the park with hundreds of families,” Newington Parks and Recreation Superintendent Bill DeMaio said.
The first 100 people to register online at aarp.cventevents.com/fitlotct will receive a complimentary lunch from Italian Gourmet.
A DJ will be on-site that day playing music and exercise specialists will demonstrate how to use each of the 14 pieces of exercise equipment in the park.
The equipment was donated to the Town of Newington by AARP and FitLot several years ago.
It has QR codes printed on it to provide users with instructional videos on how to use each piece of equipment.
