NEWINGTON - Mike Sobolewski did a little bit of everything for the Newington Senior Legion team

Sobolewski tossed four scoreless innings and collected two hits on offense and scored the game-winning run as Newington scraped by with a 3-2 win over Tri-County in 10 innings at Legends Park Thursday.

The win gives Newington a 2-1 season series win over Tri-County, taking two of the three matchups this season.

Anthony DeBlasio was solid as Newington’s starter, tossing six innings and allowing two runs, both coming in the first inning.

But it was Sobolewski who got the win. On offense he hit a double, and scored two runs.

DeBlasio and Danny Crouse added to the effort, each picking up multiple hits.

Jordan Brunetti was big for the Newington offense as well. He had two hits and two RBI, including knocking in Sobolewski to win the game.

Newington improves to 7-10 on the season, with just four games left in the regular season, three of which being at home.
