Sports Roundup: Southington girls volleyball remains undefeated, picks up 11th win

SOUTHINGTON - The Southington girls volleyball team continued its hot streak with a sweep over E.O Smith on Friday, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19.

The Blue Knights have now won 11 straight matches to open the season.

Southington’s Lynsey Danko led the team with four aces and 15 digs, while teammate Haley Larrabee had nine kills and 10 digs and Brooke Cooney had six kills and six aces. Keishla Rosario also recorded four kills on the evening.

The Blue Knights will next travel to the Springfield Hall of Fame Classic today.

BOYS SOCCER

Newington 0, Windsor 0: Neither team could find the back of the net Friday evening.

Indians goalkeeper Jack DeGirolamo finished the night with three saves, while Windsor’s Breon Parker made 10.

Newington is now 3-1-2 on the season.
