BRISTOL - Bristol Central boys track and field lost to Middletown Tuesday night, losing 77-73.
Bristol Central won three relay races, winning the 4x100 meters (44.70), 4x400 meters (3:39.0) and 4x800 meters (8:44.0).
BC also won in the hurdles, with Jarrett Boxley winning the 300 hurdles in 44.7 seconds. Boxley also won in the 110 meter hurdles, clocking a 16.32.
Francis Porrini was the lone Bristol Central boy to win in the field, winning the high jump event with a best of 5-10.
In the mid and long-distance races, Nate DeAngelo won in both the 1,600 and the 3,200 meters, running times of 4:26.0 and 9:48.0, respectively.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
Bristol Central 86, Middletown 60: Bristol Central outscored Middletown Tuesday night, winning 86-60.
The BC girls won three relays, winning the 4x100 (53.02), 4x400 (4:29) and 4x800 (10:41) meter races.
In the field, Krystal Rodriguez posted marks of 27 feet, 7 inches in the shot put, 74 feet, 1 and one half inch in the discus and 84 feet, 9 inches in the javelin – all meet bests.
Winning individual events on the track for BC was Salvatrice Bosco, who won the 200 and 400 meter dash with atimes of 27.3 and 1:00, respectively.
New Britain 6, Wilcox Tech 1: New Britain boys tennis picked up a 6-1 win over Wilcox Tech Tuesday night.
Winning in straight sets were Patrick Chroback and Joseph Leveque, both winning their singles matches.
Phinnias Root and Tomas Portillo won in straight sets of doubles action, and Alex Dementiev and Durjoy Bairati won straight sets as doubles partners as well.
St. Paul 168, Canton 193: St. Paul boys golf beat Canton Tuesday night, winning 168-193 at Blue Fox Run White Course.
St. Paul’s Matthew Downes and Brandon Frye both shot a 37, finishing as co-medalists with a +1 to end the day (par of 36).
Chris Millerich scored a 43 and John Gaffney shot a 5`, rounding out St. Paul’s scoring golfers for the day.
With the match win, St. Paul’s boys golf team improves to 6-0 on the season.
St. Paul 167, Laurelton Hall 175: St. Paul girls golf improved to 3-0 Tuesday night, beating Laurelton 167=175 at Westwood Golf Course.
Two Laurelton Hall golfers tied Erin Downes of St. Paul for the medal, each shooting an eight-over-par 39.
Olivia Dahn shot a 41, Quinn Burns shot a 43 and Sami Millerick shot a 44 in the match.
Hall 183, Newington 231: Hall defeated Newington girls golf Tuesday night, winning 183-231 at Indian Hill Country Club.
Carolyn Alquist and Annie DeSanto both shot a 43 for Hall, finishing as co-medalists for the day. The top Newington scorers were Madison Massaro-Cook with a 53 and Tori Tolisanto with a 57.
Ellis Tech 190, Goodwin Tech 232: Ellis Tech beat Goodwin Tech Tuesday night at Stanley Golf Course.
The medalist from the evening was Ayden Papuga, shooting a 38 for Ellis Tech. Goodwin Tech was led with los from Christian Molina (50) and Julien Stepien (56).
