Mary Stawski Germano, 92, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017, in Bluffton, S.C. The daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes Stawski, she was born Aug. 18, 1924, in New Britain, and remained in Connecticut for most of her life. Mary was employed by Connecticut Natural Gas Co. for 23 years until retirement in 1986. In 2013, she moved to South Carolina along with her two daughters.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas R. Germano, with whom she resided in New Britain and Southington. She leaves behind three children, Paula O’Meara and husband, Philip, of Bluffton; Nancy Hall and husband, Victor, of Bluffton and John T. Germano and wife, Lindy, of Glastonbury, Conn. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Bethany O’Meara and husband, George McKie, Brian O’Meara, Corin Hall and husband, Michael Mellen, Macey Hall, Michael Germano and wife, Erin McDonnell, and Lauren Germano and husband, Cory Ayotte. She was devoted to her family and played an active role in her grandchildren's lives. Mary was an avid reader, an excellent cook, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crochet.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain. There are no calling hours.
