Robert Edward Larson, 83, of Berlin, husband of the late Carol (Eckert) Larson, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2017, at his home. He was born in New Britain to David Theodore Larson and Ebba J. (Johnson) and lived his whole life in Berlin.

He leaves behind his two sisters, Nancy Clark and Gladys Goodale and he was predeceased by his brother, David T. Larson. He also leaves his children and their spouses, the Rev. Robert E. Larson Jr. and Angela, Linda J. Tracy and Dale, Elaine B. Tusing and Tarry, Timothy W. Larson and the late Angie Larson, and Mark D. Larson and Karen. Also, he leaves behind 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was loved by many and was a true character. To the man that was known as “Dad,” “Papa,” “Pops,” and “Candy-Man,” to the man that everyone loved seeing, the one who always had candy to give to anyone he saw, to the man that loved his family unconditionally, to the man that always called his grandchildren to see how they were doing, to the man who always told the cheesiest jokes, to the man that loved God with all his heart and raised his family to love and do the same, to the man that used to talk about his cat all the time and loved him so much, and to the man that will be missed by not only his family but also by all the people he came into contact with. We all love you!

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Crossroads Church of God, 146 Hudson St., Berlin. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. just prior to the service. Rose Hill Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
