Margaret 'Peggy' Fijolek

Margaret “Peggy” Fijolek, 70, of New Britain, formerly of Simsbury, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

Born in New Britain to the late Theodore and Anne (Kurnik) Fijolek, she graduated from Simsbury High School Class of 1965. Peggy was employed by Allstate Insurance for many years and then Stop & Shop up until her retirement.

She was a parishioner of St. Jerome Church and was a regular Bingo player there for many years. Peggy also enjoyed watching NY Yankees baseball games and NY Giants football games always with her canine companion by her side.

She is survived by her brother, Stephen Fijolek, and his wife, Gail; her nephew, Matthew Fijolek, and his wife, Katie, and their daughters, Kensi and Abby; and her aunt, Emilia Kurnik.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest beside her parents in St. Bernard’s Church Cemetery, Tariffville.
