Wieslaw Glogowski, 79, of New Britain, Conn., died peacefully on May 5, 2017, ending a three-year battle with cancer. He was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1966 with his wife, Zofia and four children. He first worked at Atlantic Tool and then took a position at Caval Tool & Die where he worked for 33 years. Wieslaw enjoyed many trips with his wife, spending time with his family and friends and especially loved being with his grandchildren. He found peace in gardening, boating and the ocean.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Zofia (Rajnik) Glogowski; his children, Yolanda Lawrence and her husband, Dave, of Pennsylvania; Andrew Glogowski of Massachusetts; Eva Olis and her husband, Frank, of New Britain and Adam Glogowski and his wife, Donna Polk, of Glastonbury; his former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Glogowski of Bristol; his adored grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Rebecca, Stephen, Alek, Mika, Emily, Nicholas, Joseph, Abigail, Anna, Piotrus, John and Elizabeth; his special niece and God-daughter, Elizabeth Dobosz and her husband, Dave, and their son, Timothy; his God-daughter, Julie Smith of Kensington; his brother, Marian Glogowski in Poland, along with other extended family in Poland. Wieslaw was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Janina (Kaliszyk) Glogowski and his brother, Zenon Glogowski.
Funeral services will begin Monday, May 15, at 8:45 a.m. from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, May 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
