Boleslawa Bujwid, 91, of New Britain, Conn., passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, with her devoted family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Jozef, to whom she was married for almost 57 years.

She is survived by her son, Romuald and his wife, Zofia; her daughter, Alicja Drzazgowski and her husband, Zbigniew, and her four grandsons who were her pride and joy, Greg Drzazgowski, Martin, Peter, and Robert Bujwid. She is also survived by many relatives and friends in Poland and the United States.

Bola was born and lived in Lyse, Poland, until she immigrated with her husband to the U.S. in 1985 to join their son. While in Poland she worked for the majority of her life as an accountant. She became a U.S. citizen in 1994. In the U.S. she took pride and great joy in her family life and in raising her grandsons. She loved reading medical books and articles and poetry. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Bola was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain and a member of Holy Cross Church Rosary Society.

The New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral home was entrusted with arranging the funeral service.

The calling hours will be Sunday, May 14 between 4 and 6 p.m. at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, (directions, Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit. Funeral home is 1½ miles on your right. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 15, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at the Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
