Emily A. (Szrom) Palmese, 83, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford on April 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Owczarz) Szrom.
Emily lived in New Britain for most of her life with her loving husband of 40 years, Patsy “Pat,” who predeceased her in 2000. She enjoyed occasional trips to the casino and playing setback with family and friends. She was happiest attending family events and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three devoted sons, Patrick J. Palmese and his wife, Elaine, of Bristol; Mark J. Palmese Sr. and his wife, Tina, of New Britain; and Neal J. Palmese and his wife, Marilyn, also of New Britain; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Mark Jr. and wife, Rosemarie, and their son, Mark III; Amanda and her partner, Aaron, and their children, Andrew and Alyvia, Jarrett, Brandon, Nicole, Katherine, Eddy and Chloe; her only surviving sister, Agnes Zdrojowy and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Friends and family may call at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain, Friday, May 19, 2017, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
