David L. Johnson, 79, of Berlin, widower of Mildred (Campbell) Johnson, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Born in New Britain, son of the late Lester and Arlene (Fancher) Johnson, David was a longtime New Britain resident moving to Berlin five years ago. He was employed as a Steeple Jack working on church restorations for Tremblay Renovations for many years. He was a member of the SVEA Club and Moose Club, both of Berlin.

Surviving is a brother, Gary Johnson and his wife, Lucy, of Keene, N.H.; two sisters, Sharon Paul of Berlin and Judy Glownia of New Hampshire; many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Mildred, he was predeceased by a two sisters, Marjorie House and Bonnie O’Connell.

Calling hours are Sunday 5 to 7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Funeral services will be private.
