Bronislaw Biel, 78, of New Britain passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Wanda (Wolak) Biel for 49 years. Born in Poland, son of the late Ludwik and Antonina (Kaszuba) Biel, he immigrated to New Britain with his family in 1981. While in Poland, Bronislaw attended mechanical school and was a machine instructor. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was employed by Reno Machine in Newington. He was a wonderful husband, father and always helped his family back in Poland. He also had a strong passion for cars.

Along with his wife, he leaves his two children, Peter Biel of Berlin and Barbara Biel of Bristol. He also leaves his two sisters, Zofia Czekaj and Anna Jarczyk; several nieces and nephews, all of Poland; two sisters-in-law, Julia Nowak of Burlington and Helena Chuda of New Britain and his brother-in-law, Jozef Wolak of New Britain.

His funeral service will begin Saturday, July 8, at 9 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday (TODAY), from 5 to 8 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
