Edward R. Bichun, 75, of Bristol passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, with his beloved wife Marion (Hricus) Bichun by his side. Born in Hartford, son of the late Helena Bichun, he was a New Britain resident until moving to Bristol with his family in 1972. Ed was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church and its Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs of America and enjoyed baking and dancing Polka. He was previously employed at New Britain General Hospital (presently Hospital of Central Connecticut), Central Connecticut State University and for the City of New Britain Signalization and Control Division prior to his retirement 15 years ago. Above all, he had a passion for his family, especially his adored grandchildren.
Along with his wife, he leaves his daughter, Larissa Rembisz and her husband, Darrin, of Burlington and his two grandchildren, Gabriel and Kelsey. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Margaret Wallick and her husband, Demetri, of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Michael Hricus and his wife, Dorothy, of Fairfield, and Thomas Hricus of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews and their families.
His services will begin Monday, July 10, at 9 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 305 Washington St., New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, July 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain.
