Henry Kita

Henry Kita, 90, of New Britain died Sunday, July 9, 2017. Born in Hutkow, Poland, son of Andrzej and Bronislawa (Kozlowska) Kita, he was a longtime resident of New Britain. Henry was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and retired in 1972 from Atlantic Machine Tool after many years of employment.

Henry is survived by his sons, Dieter Kita of Peterborough, N.H., H-Walter Kita of New Britain and his daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Kita of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Jennifer Sullivan, Joshua Kita, Kimberly Dennett, Ashley Kita, Daniel Kita and Gretchen Kita; his great-grandchildren, Michael, Connor and McKenna Sullivan, Jeanette Fraser, Grace, Sofia, William and Brent Kita and Keegan Dennett; his brother, Mieczyslaw Kita and his wife, Marianna, of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Elfriede (Wiechman) Kita and his son, Winfried Kita.

Henry’s funeral service will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 14 from Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, July 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
