Conrad Oliva, 59, of Lincolnton, Ga., passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, at Charlie Norwood VA Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Conrad was born Sept. 30, 1957, in Sicily, Italy, to Paolino and Gaetana Oliva of New Britain. Conrad proudly served in the United States Navy as a submariner. He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer.
After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a computer technician in Florida. He later became a certified Microsoft engineer. He owned and operated Acel Training in Staten Island, N.Y., specializing in computer repair and teaching computer classes until 2014, then retiring to Georgia.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Dawn, and husband, Matthew Aycock; two grandchildren, Alaytra and Rhianna; and a granddaughter, Kaloni, all of Georgia. He also leaves his brother, Robert, and Beth Oliva of Southington; sisters, Lina and husband, Salvatore Cultrera, of East Berlin and Tina and husband, Angelo Airo, of Southington; and sister-in-law, Vita Oliva of Newington.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Oliva.
He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Paul, Anthony and Tianna Oliva, Stephanie, Angela and Christine Oliva, Salvatore and Paolo Cultrera, and Rosanna and Sebastian Airo, as well as a longtime friend, Maggie Lombardi of Staten Island, N.Y. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends in Connecticut, New York and Georgia.
A memorial mass is planned for Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 4 p.m. at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Road, New Britain, CT.
