Giuseppe 'Joe' Ranieri

Giuseppe “Joe” Ranieri, 67, of Plainville, died on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Italy and has lived in Conn. since 1972. He was the son of the late Francesco and Prudenza (Gulli) Ranieri.

Giuseppe retired from Stanley Works and Cold Metal Products after many years of service and in his retirement worked at ShopRite in Bristol. He was a hard-working man, who enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and the outdoors; his greatest joy was being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Krystyna (Sienko) Ranieri; his son Francesco “Frank” Ranieri; a daughter, Prudenza “Nancy” Lederman and her husband Lukas Klepacki; his stepdaughter, Diane Bonney and her husband, Keith. He leaves his beloved grandchildren, Dominic Ranieri; Natalie and Amanda Lederman; Ivan Klepacki ; Tyler and Matthew Bonney.

He is also survived by a brother, Mario Ranieri, and two sisters in Italy, Makalata Donato and Maria Vatalaro, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave., New Britain. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain.
