David Thomas Lazicki, 40, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. David was born in Meriden to David P. and Maria (Roy) Lazicki.

Dave attended Holy Cross School and graduated Saint Thomas Aquinas Senior High School in New Britain. Dave was an avid sports fan who loved the Detroit Pistons and Duke Basketball, Denver Broncos and Florida State football, Chicago Blackhawks hockey, the NY Mets baseball and U.S.A. men’s international soccer. His love of sports was second to his loyalty to his family and friends.

Dave’s playful (yet mischievous) personality made him very popular with all his “nieces and nephews” and a hit at all the gatherings he attended. Dave’s love for music spanned from Justin Timberlake to his favorite group, Mobb Deep. He never had the radio on a volume lower than max.

David is survived by his loving parents, David P. and Maria Lazicki of New Britain; his brother, Richard J, Lazicki of Mass.; all of his “brothers from another mother” crew; and all of the children who loved and will miss their Uncle Dave, Mark Bielecki and his wife, Nicole, and their daughters, Maddy and Kailyn, Nate Scalise, his brother, Michael Scalise, and his sons, Jacob and Nathan, Tommy Gleifert and his wife, Jackie, and their children, Kaitlin and Tommy Jr., Kevin Murphy and his son and his godson, Carter, Sarah Wild Jones and her daughter and his goddaughter, Analise, Reggie Foster, Johnny Mayette, Danny Nanowski, Rashad Jefferys, Michael Zaba, Greg Danielewski, David Roziecki and Fitcher Flowers; his grandmothers, Marjorie Lazicki (Gramma Duck) and Mary Roy of New Britain; his aunts and uncle, Cynthia Yaconiello and Sharon Lazicki of New Britain and Gail and Paul Camire of Southington; his cousins, Elizabeth and Carolyn Camire, Ryan and Mike Yaconiello and his wife, Joanna, and their daughters, Janessa, Gabriella and Mikaela; Dave also leaves his girlfriend, Maritza Puntiel, and the kids, Angel Martez Jr., Romeo Wilson, Cristian Garcia, Yazslina Robles and Aeronlyse Puntiel, whom he loved and cared for.

Dave is predeceased by both of his grandfathers, Casimir J. Lazicki and Norman J. Roy of New Britain and his most loyal companion and confidant, Tyson.

To the kid with a heart of gold: Your loyalty to those who were close to you was second to none. Thank you for being a great friend and uncle. You will be missed tremendously; we will hold every memory close to our hearts. Heaven has gained another angel please watch over us all. Life will never be the same without you. The impact you had on us all will live on forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Family and friends are invited to call from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain, CT 06051.
