Alfonse E. Napierski, 95, of New Britain, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at Autumn Lake Healthcare. Alfonse was born on Dec. 9, 1921 in Terryville, and was the son of the late Marcel and Frances (Szemplinski) Napierski. He lived in New Britain all of his life. Alfonse served his country honorable in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from the State of Connecticut as a master plumber in the correction department 30 years ago. Alfonse was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and gardening.
Alfonse is survived by his three sons, John Napierski and his wife Catherine, James Napierski and his wife Johanne and Gary Napierski and his wife Laurie all of New Britain; his two grandsons, John Napierski Jr. and his wife Carolyn and Eric Napierski; his granddaughter, Amy Sturgeon and her husband Eric; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Napierski and his longtime companion Ann Connolly; as well as many nieces and nephews. Alfonse was predeceased by his wife, Anna (Mack) Napierski; his two brothers, Frank and Edmund Napierski; his two sisters, Irene McGivney and Dorothy Sliva; and his grandson, Thomas Napierski.
Funeral rites for Mr. Napierski will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, with the procession departing at 10:15 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain. Entombment with full military honors will be in St. Mary’s Garden Mausoleum, St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain. The American flag will be presented to Mr. Napierski’s son, John.
