Agostino Apruzzese, 85, of New Britain, Conn., passed away peacefully with his family by his side Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Conn. Agostino was born in the town of Cucciano, Provincia di Benevento, Italy, on Dec. 7, 1931, where he worked as a farmer and later in the United States as a machinist for Emhart Corporation/Corbin and Russwin in Berlin, Conn., for 25 years. He was the son of the late Gerardo and Pasqualina (Santucci) Apruzzese. Agostino was a member of St. Ann Church in New Britain. He was a firm defender of his faith and family; always observing the religious and cultural traditions of his birthplace especially Christmas and Easter holidays. Agostino loved nature and spending time outside in his garden. He often worked from sun up to sunset, tending to his plants and fruit trees and whistling to the birds. Agostino loved sharing his harvest with family, friends, neighbors and all he came across. His presence will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Agostino is survived by his beloved wife, Giuseppina of 57 years, of New Britain; his three children, Gerardo Apruzzese and his wife, Elizabeth, of Farmington, Conn., Pasquale Apruzzese and his wife, Lori, of Plainville, Conn., and Pasqualina McIntyre and her husband, Jeffrey, of Southington, Conn.; his brother, Raffaele Apruzzese and his sister, Carmela Pecorelli, both of Switzerland; his four grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, Alexandra, and Bella and several nieces and nephews. Agostino was predeceased by his sister, Norina Santucci and his brother, Antonio Apruzzese. We like to thank VITAS Healthcare from the bottom of our hearts for the tender loving care they provided.
