Mary (Joseph) Jacob

Mary (Joseph) Jacob, 97, of Farmington, widow of the late Ephraim Jacob, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, she came to New Britain as an infant, lived in West Hartford for 50 years, moving to Farmington in 2000. Mary graduated from New Britain High School and was a Bookkeeper at A.C. Peterson in West Hartford for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Thomas Assyrian Church in New Britain.

Surviving is her daughter, Lois White and her husband, George, of Farmington; three nieces and a nephew. Besides her husband Ephraim, Mary was predeceased by two brothers, David and Sam Joseph, and a sister, Esther Isaac.

Funeral services are Friday 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Assyrian Church of the East, 120 Cabot St., New Britain, CT 06053. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. Mary’s family expresses special thanks to the staff at Hughes Health & Rehab in West Hartford for the wonderful care shown to her for the past 15 months.
