Joan Claire (Kessell) Sabottke

Joan Claire (Kessell) Sabottke, 83, of New Britain, beloved wife of the late Roger Sabottke, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017. Joan was born in Fall River, Mass., on June 22, 1934, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jeanne (D’Arc Villandre) Kessell. She attended St. Mary Elementary School in Fall River then moved to New Britain, attended Nathan Hale Junior High, and New Britain High School. Joan was a member of St. Francis and St. Jerome Church, and was employed by Sebastian Jewelers, and MidConn Bank. Joan leaves behind two of her daughters, Dawn Michalek and her husband, Edward, of Westerly, R..I, and Kim Sabottke and Fiance, Blaise Riccio, of Wethersfield, and her grandsons, Scott, Brett, Craig Michalek. Along with her husband Roger and parents, she was predeceased by her two daughters, Cherie Lynn, and Debra Claire Sabottke. Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Jefferson House for their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 6, directly at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Interment will be immediately following Mass in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
