Joanna (Zmarlicka) Boryczewski, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 1, 2017, in New Britain, Conn., surrounded by her family. She was 95. One of 11 children, she was born in Poland on March 31, 1922. She was a woman of God who raised a family in the midst of turmoil and war. She was the special “Babcia” to her seven grandchildren, Robert Bergen, Norman Bergen, Edwin Boryczewski, Lee Boryczewski, Dina Palmese, James Boryczewski, and Diana Ostrzyzek, and her 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings, sisters, Amelia Chojnowska and Zyta Yuhas, and brother, Michal Zmarlicki.
