Stephanie Marion (Koczera) Kozikowski

Stephanie Marion (Koczera) Kozikowski, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Arbor Rose in New Britain.

Born in Lowell, Mass., Stephanie was a New Britain resident since 1923. Stephanie was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1938, and was employed as an executive secretary at New Britain Machine Company for 41 years, retiring in 1981. She then served as a volunteer at New Britain General Hospital for 20 years. She was a charter member of Holy Cross Church, a member of the Holy Cross Rosary Society and a member of the New Britain Council of Catholic Women.

Surviving is her stepdaughter, Joann Hansen of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Cindy Giraurd, Lori Skinner and Tim Skinner, all of Berlin; and her sister-in-law Hedy Karnecki of New Britain. She was a devoted and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and their families in Connecticut, Tennessee and Virginia. Besides her husband, Bernard, she was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Carol Skinner; three brothers, Walter, John and Stanley Koczera; four sisters, Helen Korzun, Stella Smolleck, Dorothy LaPierre and Mary Lange; three nephews, Michael Kukuc, Edward Kukuc Jr. and Peter Smolleck; and a grandniece, Victoria Parent.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church.
