Camille D. Chenard

Camille D. Chenard, 90, of Southington, formerly of New Britain, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. She was born in Biddeford, Maine, where she lived for 26 years, daughter of the late Hervey and Lily (Houle) Dubreuil.

After meeting and marrying her soul mate Reginald, the pair moved to Hartford, Conn., where they lived for six years prior to settling down for 45 years in New Britain, Conn. Camille was an avid member and secretary at St. Joseph Parish for over 40 years when she retired. She was also a Eucharist Minister and Reader for the church.

Camille’s passion, second to her family, was being an artist. She was a member of the New Britain Art League for many years and has one of her historical landscape paintings in the Portland Museum of Art.

Camille is survived by her four children, Bertrand L. Chenard and his wife, Lois, of Waterford, Conn., Paul H. Chenard and his wife, Rebecca, of Cummings, Ga., Susan M. Chenard of Middletown, Conn., and Louise Petroka and her husband, Brent, also of Middletown, Conn.; eight grandchildren, James and Lynn Chenard, Daniel and Brian Chenard, Jessie and Gabrielle Petroka and Reem and Ali Telmesani; and one sister, Geraldine Litalien of Biddeford. She was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Nolette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, directly at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will be held privately Tuesday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Friends and family may call at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Camille’s memory may be made to Food for the Poor Inc., 6401 Lyons Road, P.O.
