Edward Michael Kus, 92, of New Britain passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Claire (Strajkowski) Kus who died Sept. 28, 2017, and with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in New Britain, Edward was the son of the late Michael and Mary Kus. He was a lifelong New Britain resident and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Edward was formerly employed at Fafnir Bearing Co. for many years, retiring in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Gary Kus of Berlin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gary Budnick of Bristol, and Nancy and Daniel Kelly of New Britain; a sister, Helen Nowak of New Britain; and by his grandchildren, Steven and Allison Budnick, Ashley and Kyle Kus, and Tyler and Ryan Kelly. He was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Kush and by two sisters, Amelia Strajkowski and Stasia Generous.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart School, 35 Orange St., New Britain, CT 06053.
